History: Link
Personality: strengths:
+ Brave: This girl's been through some terrible things and is often terrified because of it. But she still stands up and fights to survive and faces her fears, because she wants to survive. After meeting Mike Wheeler and his friends, her bravery extends to trying new things and learning how to socialize despite being timid around them at first. Her entire life she's been forced to do things that scare her so she knows how to face her fears even when she really doesn't want to.
+ Curious: El's exposure to the world is brand new to her. There's so much to see and do. Her curiosity is really on par with a toddler that's also learning independence. Eleven is doing everything for the first time, and she wants to learn and see as much as possible. She finds interest in even things that her friends find dull or weird, and especially favors trying new foods. So far, Eggo waffles seem to be her favorite. It gives her a token food item that's associated with her, and she's likely to try finding Eggos first thing.
+ Determined: At first, Eleven just wants to hide so she can feel safe. But after she starts to feel safe with Mike and the others, she realizes she has a goal. She has to help them find their friend Will, and defeat the monster that's tormenting them. She has to stop her Papa and the bad men from getting her back. When El has a goal, she'll do anything to achieve it. She won't let anything stop her, and she has her powers to knock away or kill anyone that tries getting in her way.

weaknesses:
- Temperamental: El hasn't spent her life around other people. She's been locked up and tested on, and severely lacks social skills. When her temper is triggered, she lashes out and attacks. This leaves her in a vulnerable emotional state that takes her time to come down from.
- Anxious: El is very brave but she is skittish and easy to spook thanks to growing up in a lab. She was tested on and tortured there, and all of that has had an effect on her ability to feel safe. She is constantly worrying about being found by the "bad men", and then has to constantly worry about a monster that she released upon the world. For a while she fears that the monster is actually her, and is afraid of herself and what she can do with her powers. She is brave for facing her fears, but it's unfortunate that she has so many at such a young age.
- Unstable: Because of her upbringing, Eleven is very unstable. She didn't know anything about the outside world, and had to learn how to interact with others. She had to learn what everything around her was. Because of how easily startled she is, sometimes her inexperience with her powers and the world around her would make her very unstable. Her powers would be stronger or more damaging than she expected them to be, and she'd have to run from what damage she did. She also would go from terrified to pissed in a matter of seconds, and would go off the handle and end up snapping necks or killing rooms of "bad men". Mentally, she has a lot of damage and scars that need time to heal and get better. She isn't dangerous to people on average but can be if she feels threatened..

Abilities/Skills:
Telekinesis, though using it makes her nose bleed from the effort. She also has biokinesis, the ability to manipulate living things. She's gifted with extrasensory perception, the ability to absorb things through the mind instead of her physical senses. Along with this, she shows signs of psychometry (object reading), and is able to identify things that belong to people without even knowing or observing the person. When she's put in a sensory tank and is able to focus in a heightened state, she can enter a mental void where she can locate and speak with people in alternate dimensions and locations. When she uses her abilities, she can effect nearby electricity. She makes it flicker or go out completely. Because her powers take such a physical toll on her she is generally tired after using them. Her eyes, ears, and nose can bleed because of her using them. Larger use of her powers can even cause bruising to her face and the rest of her body.

Samples:
Network
[She's not really much of a network kind of girl, but she's got a job to do and knows that this is the easiest way to do it. Her spelling is terrible, and that makes her really thankful that her device has a spell corrector built in. Otherwise people might not be able to read a thing.]

There are things here from the upside down. I can hear them when I close my eyes.

Do you hear them too?

[She isn't sure if that's true as much as it is just a fear that it is. She can't escape the upside down, no matter where she is. Which leads her to her next question -]

Is there a place to put a lot of water?

Log
Being in a place where she has to be silent doesn't really bother Eleven. It's nice in a way, and helps her filter her senses so she can focus on the things outside that might come for them. This isn't her home, and she isn't sure how long she'll be here. She isn't even sure this isn't the Upside Down, not since she knows she was taken into it after defeating the monster at the middle school. Nothing here may be real, and she just has to bide her time until she can get back home.

Back to Hawkins. Back to Mike.

Her days are spent with people staring at her, and she knows it's because of her hair and the fact they can't figure out if she's a boy or a girl. While other children cling to their parents, El never has known the familiarity of a parent that loves and comforts her. She's never been sheltered. So she chooses not to focus on the fact that children here are, and instead busies herself with chores. She's a wisp of a girl but she's strong, and she's able to use her powers to help.

She's currently carrying a large bundle of firewood in both arms, stacked up high enough she can barely see. Hurrying along so she can have some time to try and look through a book she found in the house she's staying in, El isn't paying much attention to others. That's how she ends up colliding with someone and falling back. The firewood in her arms goes flying every which way, and she ends up extending both hands so she can catch all the pieces in the air before they have time to fall and make any noise.

Her eyes are wide as her heart races, fear of what might happen if she makes even the smallest sound filling her. The firewood is floated down into a neat pile on the ground beside her, smudging the sand path. Her mouth opens, like she might try saying something. She doesn't, of course. All she does is leave the pile of wood right where it is and hurries off.

She doesn't get far before she realizes she can't let her fear of other people rule her. Not here, not anymore. So she stops and turns, extending an arm so she can lift the pile neatly into the air and send it sailing back toward her. The person in her way nearly is hit with the bundle in the process, and El doesn't seem to have a reaction other than satisfaction as her arms end up piled high once more and she can continue along with being useful. She may still be awkward and out of place, but she's learning to fit in.
